I’m just sitting here contemplating what my first blog post should actually be about. I was thinking about how simple life used to be when you’re a kid. No worries in the world! One of my favorite quotes says, “Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its trouble, it empties today of its strength.” What is the use of worrying anyway? God is in control and with Him, life is really simple anyway. The greatest commandment He gave is to Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love others as yourself. It’s a given that everyone loves themselves. No one had to teach us to be selfish – we just are. So if we can truly love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and love others the same way we love ourselves, life would really be simple. Many things in life can simply blow you away. Everybody in the world has some kind of trouble or heartache they are going through or have been through. So what makes some people get better because of the heartache? How you deal with it. Period! If you see people who have gone through extreme tragedy or heartache yet they come out better for it, it’s because they have simply decided to look ahead and not look back. Everyone has heartache or worries in their life. But don’t spend your life looking back at the heartache. Quit worrying about how life is going to turn out. Just decide you’re going to be better in spite of what may or may not happen. God is ultimately in control of our lives and He is the one who will help us through the times of worry. That was my “I needed that” pep talk of the day. So I’ve decided to live my life simply. Simplicity is key. The way to happiness – keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry, live simply, expect little, give much.
